Has anyone else seen this issue ? I know the controller is working fine, cos if i use it wired via usb, it works fine.

However if i use it wireless, the receiver light is on, the controller flashes for its few secs, then goes solid, (normally it would stay solid, and away you go ! ) however mine just immediately switches itself off. Goes solid for about a sec, then off.

Anyway trying to troubleshoot

Or try repairing to the PC. I had one controller that also needed a firmware update which I did by pairing it to my 360 before pairing again with the PC. The other thing I sometimes have to do is unplug the RF receiver and plug it back in again and then the controller connects.

Mind you never tried it wired so this may all be irrelevant.

first thing i changed was the batteries to new ones.. defo not that. i could try pairing it to my kids xbox one and see if there's an update, then pair it back to the xbox pc receiver.. Also tried re-syncing it by hold down the sync buttons on both the receiver and controller, for the short time is stays alive. This particular controller and receiver came with my oculus rift. (not sure if that's relevant, maybe in the fact its never been paired to an xbox for an update?) However i'd of thought that win10 would be smart enough to issue out an update. Also tried different usb ports, all do the same thing...Also wouldn't hardwiring it in force any req'd updates ? Its reasonably new. Controllers don't get a lot of use on the PC, except when i want to play a driving or a shoot em up.

Something worth considering is M$ have recently released patches that have caused all sorts of problems with peoples PC's. Might be worth checking that everything is ok PC end?

Been mixed bag for me and does similar on occasions if its doing similar to what happens on my PC. Taking out the wireless dongle then plugging it back in and reconnecting sorts it. If connecting via Bluetooth then need to disconnect it and then reconnect it. Right pain sometimes.

OP here. Weirdest thing is its working again ? Didn't really do anything different tonight when i got home.. I used a different extension cable but that's about it.. Last night i tried new batteries, various USB ports, re-syncing, NOTHING was working.. Ended up using it hardwired.. Tried again after thinking maybe it applied an update, but still nothing.. Tonight, fires right up ??? Who knows what's going on with Microsoft these days.
