xbox one faulty - 2 year EU warranty ??

Hi,

having a real nightmare with Microsoft support. Originally I was told my console is supported until Sept 2015 so I had time to do some testing.

Finally found that it is faulty which took me a good few weeks to test and they are now saying that the warranty has in fact expired back in May 2015.

So pretty fed up about this as its my 2nd console already; is there anything I can do or do I just need to buy another console :(

I thought within the EU I should get 2 years fit for purpose, and seeing as the console has only been out for less than 2 years ?
 
Ive found it easier to exercise the SoGA in the UK (in essence it already encapsulates that EU directive) - its just easier to argue when youve got a contract with the retailer than going back to the manufacturer in some cases.

Do you have a record of your initial conversation as if its the same issue then if you engaged them before May then your warranty claim should stand

Bought from Amazon, when I spoke to them on the phone some American lady just said they only offer one year warranty and to speak to Microsoft.

And Microsoft send me the chat dialogue the reason for the confusion was when I originally told the dates they told me in American date format ! So I mixed up May with September.
 
Amazon are usually very good, call again and ask them to help. If the person says no, ask for a manager to call you back. Worst they can say is no.
 
AFAIK the EU 2 year warranty is a misinterpretation.

SOGA is what you need to look at, and beyond 6 months it's more difficult. Warranties / goodwill gestures tend to be easier.
 
don't you have warranty card and written there?
here basic warranty is 1 year, anything else beyond that only if you bought extended warranty....
 
Network disconnects. Happens probably after about 20 mins then every few minutes.

It cuts of my controller and network at the same time.

I've wiped the xbox but no difference.

I can send it to Microsoft for £83 to hopefully repair. What should I say to Amazon ?
