It turns out that my 3 year old is surprisingly good at playing games on my Xbox. He's good enough to play co-op games on Battlefront on hard...but he's only allowed for a couple of hours on the weekend and I'm looking for something that will keep him entertained (single player).

He plays BF, Forza and FIFA but wants to try Alien and Halo but I'd rather he play something less shooty. Any thoughts? I'm somewhat new to consoles so don't know what's good out there, but I imagine something like Lego Star Wars would be good (he's obsessed with Star Wars now).

Any thoughts?

Any Lego game, Minecraft and what about PVZ? Shooter but in a cartoon way?

You could try Project Spark too

I've been thinking about Minecraft, just saw that there's some Star Wars skins available. Which version is best?

A 3-year-old playing Alien? Don't be irresponsible as that is an 18 game. Give him Viva Pinata. :D

Indeed, that's why I want some kid friendly games lol - but taking into account that he's pretty good for a 3 year old.

edit - is Lego Star Wars even on XBone?

He's 3 years old ffs. Regardless of how 'good' he is, he shouldn't be playing games that are officially classified for older gamers. Get a grip. It's not the same as letting a 14 year old play a 16.

Buy a Wii.

As I sit here, my 4 year old daughter is exercising on the Wii U. She's hopping about like mad, running in the park with a little dog, laughing her socks off! :D

I don't know if any are on backwards compatibility tbh. But there is Lego Avengers, Marvel Super Heroes, Hobbit etc as well as Jurassic World as mentioned above.

For Minecraft, just buy the Xbox One version and there are numerous skin packs available.

Rare Replay gives you access to the older games like Viva Pinata, Trouble in Paradise and several others.

Your 3yrs old will love stuff like Viva Pinata as mines did many moons ago :)

Heh, can just imagine after a few hours...

"Alright sweethearts, you heard the man and you know the drill. A***oles and elbows! Dad, come here! Come *here*!"

You know how children pickup the smallest words.
