xbox one issue

Hi i was just wondering if anyone here had any issues with there xbox one console, and it not taking discs?
my boys xbox one is just over 1 year old and to be fair they do not use it a great deal however this weekend it stopped allowing them to put discs into the drive and the console is not showing any error codes?
I thought if anyone here had a similar fault or work around they could
put some details on the forums before i have to try fight MS for a repair
as it is technically now out of warranty

Had that after a few months with my first xbox one, I think the slot drive mechanism had failed but fortunately mine was new enough that it could just go back to the shop for a replacement console.
Sadly I think you're in for a fight with MS, if it's just over a year old you might be able to use the sale of goods act and eu legislation as something that costs nearly £400 can be reasonably expected to last more than a year. Not entirely familiar with the legislation though so you might need to do some googling.

The Wife got on to Amazon .. this is where she purchased it from,
and they have just updated her basket with a new console free.
and sent an email this morning to say they will someone to collect
the faulty unit in 1 week.
have to say fair play to Amazon and just swapping it out for a new console
with no fuss at all
cant argue with that customer service at all
very happy
seems sometimes shopping with Amazon has it's good points :)
 
Very generous of Amazon to replace it there seeing as the console was out of warranty. Always good to hear such customer service stories. Glad you're not finding yourself out of pocket OP.
