I was surprised it comes with wifi this time round too.

You surprise easily.

Why are you even in this thread? You've made your dislike for MS and the Xbox One completely clear. How about staying out of the thread and letting the people who are interested in the console have some decent, adult conversation, instead of coming in and spouting anti-MS rubbish.
You surprise easily.
If I'm only posting anti-MS rubbish then explain to me why I have to buy another play and charge kit, an adaptor for my headset, and pay for live to access virtually all the features within the console?
.
He's not the only one. I was expecting ms to keep pushing all this extras for the extra money it brings in. Hell they've stuck with the aa batteries, forcing most people to spend extra on a play and charge kits or rechargeable batteries. They also only included the headset because a majority wasn't pleased with the decision.
I thought using normal batteries was a positive thing, at least they are readily available if they fail rather than being built-in and hard to replace, potentially throwing a whole pad away. Nobodies forcing anyone to buy their play and charge kit, not that it's expensive anyway. Use your own rechargeables if it bothers you that much, I have 4 Sanyo Eneloops I rotate for my 360 pad on the PC.
And it was always going to be wireless out of the box, to think otherwise is daft. Even the latest iterations of the 360 have it built in.
Interesting that they say '4k HDMI' but don't say 1.4 or 2.0. I wonder if the X1 will have HDMI 2.0, so as to support gaming style framerates over HDMI. Or it will be for movies only?
So what's different with the day one edition than say a normal edition?

I'll grant you the play and charge kit is a bit expensive but I still prefer it over the non-removable battery option in other controllers.
Changing the connector for voice to something proprietary is a bit naughty but, it's third party licensing and new accessories were the profit is so you can see why they are doing it. I'm sure Turtle beach and others were over the moon because they can shift new units rather than people using existing ones, but they relented and come up with a 'relatively' cheap alternative in the adapter.
As for the Live charges. I personally think they offer reasonable value for money, specially if you look around and find 'em cheaper online. All those back end services cost a lot of money and keeping them running reliably even more. If Live goes down (which it doesn't often) people have a right to complain is PSN goes down or runs slow as dialup with it does a lot, its free so you live with it.
You get a controller with a "Day One Edition" print on it.
DLC for Ryse, Forza and Kinect Sports Rivals
An achievement for 0G - Day one
Think thats it tbh...nothing major
Makes it all worth while...hehe.Edz said:I don't own shares in Turtle Beach so I don't care how much they make. Again I fail to see any positive reasoning as to why the voice connection has been changed.
Edz said:I The point is why do we have to buy a new play and charge kit? Why can't we use the one we already brought for the 360? Personally I prefer the battery option but I don't see a reason for why we need to buy another kit.
Edz said:This debate has been argued to death, and personally for me both online services work fine. What I do object to is the fact that the TV guide has been put behind the pay wall. This is a major selling point for the console and yet the consumers are expected to pay an annual subscription to be able to access it.
Christ, maybe some people should just never buy anything. Moaning that you are given choice and a bit more freedom to do as you please is bizarre.
Special writing on the controller, and a 0-point achievement.

But with their similar hardware and same pricing scheme for online, the consoles are going to be seperated by accessories and software - with us deciding what of those we want most. A few games I want are Xbox One only, and the rest are for both. So it's starting to lure me in..
And what a choice it is. Spend money on a play and charge kit or spend money on rechargeable batteries. In this day and age is it too much to ask for an in built rechargeable battery?
Who said I'm not interested in the console?
Decent adult conversation? What's that, only post when you've got something positive to say?

Can't?, didn't think so......
For you these may not be a big deal, but for others it is and more annoyingly it's setting a precedence with other manufacturer's that's it's OK to charge for everything on top of the cost of the console.
