Xbox One set-up

Has anyone had to end up manually typing in the SSID, security type (wep or whatever) and then the network password in the initial set-up? I ask because my first Xbone automatically found Sky, BT etc and you only have to select yours and type the password. This one (my first broke down) never scanned anything and had to go through this rubbish.

No, It found my router and all I had to do was type in my network password. Just like your first XO.

If you haven't tried this yet. Goto settings, network, set up wireless network and see if it finds it then.

As i said already set it up, just that manual way. Just weird, that was all. Also strange that that update only took half the time this time round too.
