Xbox One streaming

Having never owned an Xbox, can some one please tell me if I need to purchase Xbox live to be able to stream the likes of Amazon Prime & Netflix, or will these work straight away?

They dropped that requirement back in 2014. You can use them without paying extra.

Xbox has shudder as well which is a bonus. The amazon package has half the shudder content missing.
