Xbox one USB adapter for Windows

Just buy the standard Xbox One controller, no need to buy PC specific. You'll just need a standard micro USB.

If you want wireless, then you'll need the wireless adapter for £20 which only works on Windows 10.

Great thanks. So just to be sure, if I wanted it wireless then all I need is the dongle (which is the wireless adapter) and any Xbox One controller will work?

HEADS UP!

I just by chance tried manually updating the driver in Device Manager for the Wireless Adapter network device, it found and installed a new driver from the internet and now I have rumble and audio via the 3.5mm jack on the controller over wireless :D

Still annoyingly no way to turn the pad off though without removing a battery or turning the PC off :/

Awesome, same here :)

You can turn the controller off by holding the button in the middle down for ages.

Got my Wireless Adapter and Wireless Control from Game today, couldn't get the thing to work at first but a quick update from the device manager and all sorted now :)

Hi guys, got mine today.. Plugged it in installed automatically using Windows. Paired etc. I launched GTA to test this rumble issue and mine worked fine. I am using the controller than came out with the new Matte Black 1TB Xbox One. Not sure if it changed. I did plug it into my Xbox to check the firmware and it was already on the latest.
Just some info from me

Not surprised it worked as you have an xbox1 which probably updated the firmware. I have the old Titanfall edition controller and since I don't have a console I need the XBOX Accessories app to update the f/w which doesn't work currently.

Cool. Was just sharing my experience.
My controller hasn't been plugged in since I got in back in June.

Yeh it seems people are trying various ways to get theirs to work. In Neogaf in the previous link people have posted the Insider build driver and I couldn't even get that to work.

I've taken mine to the extreme and just done a system reset and now my driver version is 20.24.34.491. I couldn't get mine to update through the conventional method that has been working for everyone.

Anyway after I've installed my apps, graphics driver, Browser etc I will test if the updated driver works.

edit - rumble is working with this driver

Any issues to any of you using the Elite Controller?

And how long can I expect batteries to last, or any recommendations for batteries to use?

Elite controller works fine here and programs fine via the win 10 app. Just make sure its connected by USB for saving profiles to it.

What would you say are the advantages of the Elite controller over the standard one and is the price justifiable?

There are plenty of in depth reviews out there that will cover the differences probably far better than I - and take less of my time ;)

However I can simply say that I have no regrets as the build quality feel and innovation/implementation is superb. As to whether its enough to justify the huge price tag, that's really subjective personal opinion/perspective. Alongside say that of buying a mega expensive mouse.

In short: no regrets and no I wont be sending it back. Its my precious.
