xbox one wireless remote failed update

hello

i just tried to update a new controller, to the latest firnware, i bought yesterday as the headset wouldnt work and it started the update stayed at 0% for 3 or 4 secs then gave me the error that the update had failed. now the controller wont connect via usb, AA batteries or the rechargeable battery pack.

im assuming that its bricked the controller however the shop wont replace the controller claiming user error. does anyone know if there is a workaround or am i £60 out of pocket

Have you tried googling "xbox one controller won't turn on after update" ?

Not being funny but I assume that's what most people would do.

obv ive spent all afternoon on google and xbox forums etc and over an hour to ms live chat with no luck. i tried returning the controller to the shop but they wont touch it as i had told them it was initially working but the headset wouldnt work with it

yeah i tried that but no luck at all. unfortunately the shop i purchased from is a small independant trader with only a few staff all of whom i know from regular use

Hmm well that sucks, not sure its within their rights to reject a replacement/refund for something that wasn't working with the headset to begin with.. even if you are friendly with them.

Plus you over paid by at least £15 (Amazon)

Buy another from amazon and return the bricked one, they don't pay tax so fk em.
