Is it worth investing into one of these, if so is it worth the wireless version?

Using some saitek thing atm and it SUCKS..

I've used quite a lot of pads and the xbox360 pad is probably the best...for analogue :)

If you're looking for a pad for old console games I'd recommend a ps2 pad myself. Some people rate the saturn 6 button pad highly though - guess it depends on what you preferred growing up. I find that the ps2 dpad is pretty close to the snes dpad (on a good day for the snes), so it's hard to beat.

But..yes...for modern PC games or any game where you want a decent analogue stick, xbox360 is the best go for.

Wireless and wired version are on par in terms of accuracy/performance/ease of use these days, so go for the wireless if you can.

i have 2x wired ones, I prefer the shape of them

awesome for Grid and the Lego games

Do you mean compared to the wireless ones?

I can see your point - the wired ones do feel a bit more sturdy, also. I think I prefer the wireless ones now mostly because I've got about 5000000000 cables and anything that can be removed is good by me (i.e. everything apart from ethernet).

ahh :)

I have 2x front usb ports on my media centre box, looks quite neat when it's all plugged in tbh

Where can I get a wireless adaptor?

I have a wired pad but would rather use a wireless one

They are hard to come by, i had to go to one of my local highstreet games dealers as everywhere online said sold out. they had one by luck.

Try the bay.

Personaly i would rather have a wired one, im using Zalman digital headphones, and as soon as i plug in the wireless receiver it makes my headphones go bonkers.

I switched from wireless to wired. I had problems with wireless - syncing issues between the pad & receiver. It would only sync if I unplugged every other usb device. Even with a mains-powered external usb hub it refused to sync. Oddly it worked fine in my old backup rig. Annoying at the time but I'm happy with the wired pad, plug it in and yer good to go...no drivers needed.
