xbox/ pc soundcard

i have z5500 speakers via optical on my asus xonar soundcard.

if i was to connect my xbox360 via optical would i need to run it through my soundcard then to my speakers? or should i just plug the optical in from the xbox straight to the z5500's? thanks

Can you not get a 2 in 1 optial connection? Y spliter type connection, so you wouldnt have to faff taking out PC and then putting in XBox and vice versa when you wanted to play on the other device?
