Hi all,

finally getting around to sorting this, i have two play and charge kits, and neither controller will charge! so i have to plug them in everytime i want to play on the console, which is annoying, could both play and charge kits be borked? it seems very odd that they would die around about the same time.

Have they been out of use? I didn't use my 360 for about 3 months and when I went back to it had the same problem with my play n charge battery, gave up the ghost.

I found this on some site. http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26387693
It seems to be working for most people.

I've had limited success with this technique:
I just kept plugging in the charge cable, waiting for the green light to come on, unplugging it and plugging it back in again. Eventually the red light stayed on. I'm going to try this with my other controller and battery, which is also having the same problems. I'll let you know if it works.
Apparently it's an idiosyncracy of LiIon batteries, if you dischage them too much they're reluctant to charge back up again. By constantly charging them a bit with the play and charge kit you build up the charge enough for them to properly charge. I have no idea if this is true or not, but it's currently working on one of my batteries.

Same thing happened to me. Just started using duracells rather than get a new play and charge kit. Although I did see a site selling just the battery (I assume the cable is fine) for £4.99 earlier. Only problem was it was/is pink :(:D

Yup, just switched to some decent Panasonic batteries myself - they seem to last a ridiculous amount of gaming hours! :D
