To start, I dont like the XBOX but my kids do, I am a PC man through and through.

I have a question I hope that someone can help - we have a couple of XBOX 1X which my kids use but everytime there is an update to a game it kills my internet connection. I have set them (I thought) to download off the network and thought this would mean 1 would update and the other would take the update from the local network - but this doesnt seem to be the case.

I have a poor internet connection which I can't change, and it seems that games nowdays require 50Gb updates and its killing me! Especially as the PC ones also seem to want massive updates!

Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks for all the replies, well most of them :-)
I cant change as I get a crappy 4&5G signal, even my phone calls have to be done via my own broadband connection. I live on a military base so even though the village gets full fibre, we dont and the cables on base are so old they give me a max of 26Mb :-( and it seems we are not important enough to upgrade.

I have looked into Starlink, a few here have it, but mainly those who can offset the cost to a partners business - its a touch pricey and seems the latencey isnt too good for gaming..

I am thinking that the best thing to do, after looking into what these bloody XBOX things do, is update one, then move the game to an external Hdd, then move to another and copy it over - seems a pain and thought they would have had it so if the download is already onm an XBOX on a local network it could take the updates from that...

Edit - put in general discussion as couldnt find a place for Dirty XBox questions....
