Hi

Looking for a racing wheel for my 8yo for christmas. He's gotten into the f1 games and currently has a £45 argos job that is terrible but he perseveres with it. You have to plug the controller into it and it has a horrendous dead zone which I think it due to it pretending it's a controller rather than being a wheel

seen this which is around the right price range for now.

Can anyone reccomend this?

I don't want to spend much more and him not use it after a few month. If he's still playing in 6-9 month I will look at a logitec g29 etc.

Thanks

I have the older version of it, does the job but lacks some of the sophistication of more expensive models, doesn't stand up too well if you are rough with it i.e. it has been used by my nephews and friend's kids when they were younger who'd yank it left and right like kids do.

For arcade racing games perfectly fine, but for more realistic games only adequate - though from the write up sounds like there have been some upgrades since I bought.

Look around locally for a used g29 etc. people don’t seem to like posting them. £100 on a stop-gap seems excessive. I can’t comment on that particular set tho sorry

its going to be a christmas present so want new really. if hes still interested in 12 months he can have my g920 and i will get the upgrade :p

hes quite careful with the one he has at the moment, its just crap. does it plug straight into the xbox? or do you also have to plug a controller into it?

his current one needs a controller connected to the wheel, then the wheel to the xbox.
