Literally. Whenever I close the tray it just reopens, thus, I can't play any games which require a disk..
Any suggestions other than disassembling the system? Out of warranty anyway so if I have to I'll have to buy a new one..

Get a T10/T8 screw driver an pop it open, it could be a short or just a sticky eject button.
Other than that put the disc in an wrap loads of masking tape around the drive (kidding).

I don't think it could possibly be the eject button though could it because I've tried closing it on the dashboard?

No it can still be the button.

Take the front fascia of it, see if it closes then. Should just pop off I believe (but google it).

Thanks dude, just took the faceplate off and it's as good as new. what the fuuu
ty guys

The drive then is catching on the front face plate. if you re-seat it you'll probably be fine.

Or get a new funky one, either way :p

Probably, because when I tripped over a wire that charger my headset a while ago my xbox fell out of the cupboard it was in and I noticed towards the left hand side at the front it was slightly nudged.
Also, the disk tray button is wonky o.O
