Hi

I have a Netgear WGR614v5 and a Netgear WGE111 Game Adaptor.

Whilst the xbox connects to my PC ok when I set up the Live bit it comes back with the NAT as sercure, and I need it to be open to enjoy this the best!

Do I need to set up Port Forwarding on my router? Only if I use a mates xbox wireless bit its fine!
Or do I need to set something on the Game Adaptor?

All help will be much appreticated!

Stay Phunky :D

You need to forward the following from your router to the IP address the 360 is getting:

UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074

Aye, and turn off uPnP, if your router supports it, as Port Forwarding doesn't work alongside it.

I have set the port forwarding to the xbox address as listed above but it still comes back as strict!
Do you think its a setting on the game adaptor though?
As it works fine (ie NAT is OPEN) with an official xbox wireless adaptor without any port forwarding on the router, but it STRICT when I use the game adaptor!
I have disabled uPNP on the router as well.

Oh, and before some bright spark says 'just use the xbo one' its my mates not mine!!!

Thanks for all your help guys

I had the 614v6 and it was an absolute pain, no matter what I tried it was just so inconsistent with what it would let me join/host.

Changed to a spare linksys WRT54G I had and never had a problem since. Changing router is about the only thing I can recommend, I tried endless combinations trying to get it to work as it should be never could.

Just use the Xbox one then! Sorry had to be done :p :D

I've never used a wireless bridge before so I'm not sure? Maybe check out the below link, see if you can get any info from that?

Changing the router is to expensive to be honest

Dearer than 50 quid! What router would you be planning on getting!! :p

No fair enough, if it worked with your friend’s official adapter then you may as well get one. Saves getting a new router and messing about setting it up.
