I have recently purchaced a 360 and am quite impressed by it, the thing is its in my bedroom and I only have a 21 inch standard TV in my room. I also have an apple 20inch cinema display but its DVI-D and therefore cannot be connected to the 360 (without a £200+ converter) I already have the official VGA cable and was wondering if it is worth getting a 19inch widescreen monitor to use just the 360 cos I cannot afford a larger hdtv. I dont have too much space in my room though and is it worth spending around £150 just for a 19inch monitor or should i just keep using my 21inch standard TV.

a 21" 4:3 TV is quite a bit larger then a 19" Widescreen (16:9) Monitor.. you would have to sit very very close to it to get the full effect..

You could possibly look at a 22" widescreen Monitor, these are coming up around the £200 mark..

I keep trawling second hand sites, such as adtrader and trade-it, and see a few 26" LCD's that are a couple of years old going for £200-£250..

I wouldnt buy a monitor just for the 360, stick with the TV imo.
Agreed, the difference really isn't that great.

The main difference I noticed when changing to HDTV was in the sharpness of the text and the dashboard.

Have u tried a VGA to DVI converter. Might be worth a try it'd be odd for a display to just accept dvi-d surely?

I have one of the old Apple 20 inch LCD cinema displays with the clear plastic casing, (I have to use a ADC to DVI connector to hook it up to my pc) it only outputs a digital signal hence DVI-D.

mikeysyke, your sig is too big, you're only allowed 4 lines of text max.

I personally wouldn't bother getting antoher monitor and just stick with a TV, but if you have money to spare, a second screen might be okay.

Sorry bout the large sig, I didnt realise. I guess I will just stick to the standard TV for the time being. The thing is as the 360 is capable of far higher resolutions i feel like I am missing out on something by using a normal TV.
