Xbox Series S - X

Hi guys,

Looking at treating myself to a new console (sold my xbox one x about 18 months ago). I do enjoy Forza so it's got to be the xbox. The decision is do I get the series S now or wait for the series X?

I know the storage would be better with the Series X but in terms of playability I have a 4k HDR TV but it's not 120HZ or OLED so i'm thinking is it really worth the £200/£250 extra for the series X over the series S?

I entertained the thought of a S because the price is cheap and they are available. In the end I decided the S is basically last gen and will offer me nothing my pc already has and more.
I was always getting a PS5 regardless so decided to give the S a miss.

Edit- I don’t have 120hz either and I don’t expect it to matter too much. Neither the X nor PS5 has the grunt to do it properly so it’s a non issue imo.
 
Deffo worth the wait for the X. The SSD capacity alone will fit only several games on the S.

I think now availability is becoming slightly better, keep an eye open on GAME website, that’s where I managed to snag one easily enough.
 
Even though I love my Series S, I feel like I’m missing out by not having the full 4K experience. If I didn’t have a PS5, I’d definitely get the X. But as it is, the PS5 is the perfect complement to S/PC.

I have a PS5 but as I have given up on PC gaming due to the cost of upgrading a 10 year old+ system with dead gpu,

I would love a Series X to cover the the titles I miss out on (Flight Sim and Starfield, if it turns out to be any good for a start). Just the extra grunt and storage over the S would be worth it without even worrying about the resolution.
 
I love my Series S, I have a high end PC and PS5 though so I find the S compliments well.

If I didnt have the PC I have id of got the Series X, Storage issues aside on the S its great piece of kit considering its size and spec

Series X. The S is a 1440p console.

120hz or not, if you are playing 4k then you want the X. Its not like there is 5 or £600 pounds difference between them and the X will future proff you should you upgrade the TV as well. Given todays market as well, if you try the X and change your mind you wont have a problem selling it.

Series S is a great little machine but being able to game in 4k and the additional storage I'd opt for the X.

Needed one for my nephew's birthday recently, checked the usual places and on the second day of looking found one via Argos for click and collect.

Thought was going to be much more difficult, didn't believe it until I got to the store and was actually there.
