Xbox Series X - Digital Sound Out problem

Obviously the Series X has no digital out for sound which is causing my aging set up a problem.

With my Xbone I simply used HDMI through my Yamaha YSP 2200 soundbar and then into my TV.

The 'TV' is actually a 65" 4K Iiyama I picked up for next to nothing off a mate who was decommissioning the IT for a company that went under.

However the old soundbar won't pass through 4k that I can work out, using the same cables direct from the Xbox to the display works OK so I don't think it's a cable issue.

The TV has no digital out, so I can't pass sound back to the soundbar via Optical.

So I'm left with a choice of 4k and crap sound from the TV or 1080p and sound from the soundbar, which is my preference of the 2.

I'll live with that if I have to, but without spending good money on a new soundbar or TV, are there any proven, cheapish (<£100) signal splitters that might do the job?

The only device I know of guaranteed to work, including passing thru 4K DV and being able to handle 1440p at 120Hz (if that's important) is one of the HD Fury devices, the 4K Arcana 18gbps. This will give you ARC and eARC compatibility whilst maintaining 4K to the display. It also does HDMI Control.

The cost of rock solid support for the standards is $249 USD. It's still cheaper than buying a new TV or a sound bar as good as the 2200.

The UK distributor is TMFsolutions, and one of the UK dealers if Hi-Fi Corner.

I had a look at HDAnywhere and Lindy as other reputable brands but it's either nothing or 4K maxing out at 30fps which is no good for gaming.

Maybe have a look at Bluestream(?)
