Hi,

My Xbox series X is out of warranty but occasionally and randomly the HDMI output goes black, and my TV says "HDR" at the top right, then iy kicks back in. annoying enough!

However occasionally it doesn't come back on and I have to unplug and replug in the hdmi cable..anyone else had this happen please?

Have you tried different HDMI cables to rule out the cable? Or have you got another TV or monitor you can plug it into to check that it's not the TV?

I'd try both of those before saying for sure it's the Xbox.
It's a good point, I will do that. However other sources plugged into the same TV don't do it. Also tried different input sockets on the telly.

Tried 3 hdmi cables.

Yes. Happens regular to me on a 5 year old LG OLED. Not looked into it much as just presumed its the tv on the decline.
Mine is a 2 year old lg OLED, but am convinced it's not the TV due to other sources being ok, including when they're connected to previously offending sockets

As said replace HDMI cable first a good hi end cable is advised , secondly HDMI ports are fragile easely damaged internaly , i replace ports so know the issues , if the cable dont sort it get it looked at by a tech ............
Thanks for your post, I've got a mobile phone shop down the road, I wonder if they'd have a look at it. Otherwise do you know of any console repairers? I'd prefer local in person for this, I'm in the OCUK land of Stoke on Trent
