Hi Guys,
I saw this monitor came into stock 2 days ago LG 27GL850B and is now out of stock which does not surprise me. For months and months i have been doing research into specs, hdmi types etc.
I am buying the Xbox Series X when it comes out and i know it has HDMI 2.1 to support 4k 120 but realistically not many games will for a long while.
I am currently using an old 27 inch BENQ 1m\s response time TN panel monitor good e-sports type but the picture is not great.
I want to upgrade for the Series X but i am tired of waiting around for HDMI 2.1 monitors to come out which on top of Covid 19 will probably not be until the end of year or after CES 2020 so spring summer next.
So i in the interim a week ago i bought a 43 inch 4K TV with HDR and figured this will be a good screen for sim racing, racing games in general and games that are not competitive etc and be a lot more immersive with the sheer size and using a steering wheel. So from the Series X i still get the benefit of 4k 60 on this TV with games that dont need great response times.
Then i thought for the other side a sweet spot of 27" 2K 144hz (but Series X will be up to 120hz) the LG 27GL850-B Nano IPS always liked the crispness of IPS panels.
I dont want to get the new console then wait for LG to release a monitor like the 27GL85-B 4K 144hz which is already confirmed for end of the year for £750 when 2k will not really be night and day sat literally 1 foot away.
I see this monitor is £100 over the RRP of £399 prob due to the demand and all the production halt due to the Covid 19 but i might just take the risk as you cant get it anywhere else Amazon have it for £650 which is crazy. I have looked at hundreds of monitors the only one i did like and consider getting prior to this was the Samsung CHG70 27 inch curved which has HDR 600 Q Dot VA panel which has the best contrast and wipes the floor with LG for that but that one is circa £600 as well and its a 2018 old panel.
I see the LG is out of stock again which must have happened today so can i still order it and put it through and they will put the transaction on hold if they get more stock in?
The reason i gave a history above is people might have some useful comments.
Thanks guys for reading.
