Xbox Slim eject not turning console on?

I have an issue with my slim, the eject button does not turn the xbox on yet it still makes the beep noise.
I think I can remember that it used to turn the xbox on but I can't remember.
Could someone try it so that I can tell whether it is a hardware problem or is a bug with the last update?

try unplugging it from the mains for a few mins then try it again.

Yep it turns on my 4gb slim, although I normally just use the pad to turn it on rather than the console.

Happened with mine, turned out the ribbon cable that connects the buttons to the console was loose.

I've had mine since just before Christmas and it's never turned on like that, but beeps. Shame really I used it quite a bit on my old Elite.

I can confirm now that eject booting only works on the 360S after it has been previously booted and shutdown with no power interruption.
