XBOX Space Games - recommendations

My brother in law is after a decent Space battle game for the XBOX, the type where you fly around blasting things.

Any ideas?

Cant think of many to be honest, only Bounty Hunter I can think of but that also includes some first person shooting.

Think this genre is extremely limited on consoles, in fact the only things I can think of right now is X3 which isnt even out yet, Battlestar Galactica which is pap, or Crimson Skies which isnt set in space!

Theres loads but you have to go through a few levels before you get in a ship.

X Wing Vs TIE fighter or X Wing Alliance style games would have been greaton the Xbox. Sadly there aren't any.

I used to play that over on MSN Zone back in the day. It has been a really long time since there was a decent space fighter game

I'm waiting for the LUcasarts approved lightsaber for the Wii

I know its a carp reply but if he has a pc of pretty much any description he should just get freespace 2 and have done with it. Itsthe ultimate space sim that doesnt get over complex but is still incredible to play even now.
