Xbox taking ages to sign in

Is anyone else having this problem?
When I turn the 360 on, the blades appear as normal, then change to my background with the spinning "hourglass" on three blades, without ever signing in properly. It is connected to "Live" as I can download things and my gamerscore is updated, but it never seems to sign into Live properly, the only way I can play XBLA games is to sign out and then load them, as I can't access the "Games" Blade. :confused:

Is it a case my 360 needs "resetting" or something?

Happens to me as well. It started happening around christmas time (around the same time that XboxLive started having its problems in general) but it manages to sort itself out in the end given a few minutes. It's just slow to update and sign in so give it some time. It will speed up whenever MS start to address their "unexpected" new users that they acquired over the xmas period, that they "didn't" anticipate.

Are you by any chance on wireless, as a few days ago the dashboard would take often a few minuites to sign into live then load all the markeplace, live and games blades. If so try using a network cable to see if this fixes the problem, or plonking the wireless thingie next to the access point. Otherwise sorry i can't help.

Nah, the 360 is patched into my router

Might give it a go tomorrow while I am off work

fall in reference to the US seasons or fall as in the live fell over and is slowly dieing?

US seasons, there is a spring and fall update every year and even though we don't use the same terminology it's still called the same, however it arrived at Christmas

Used to take about 20 seconds when I was connecting to live via ICS using a USB modem. However, it signs in instantly now I have it connecting via my router.

annoying thing on mine is that it forgets which games I've bought, constantly have to re download street fighter, and it takes ages to load up at the start to, dashboard wise that is

I have had this for a while. It started with one of the dashboard updates. Not th last one but one before I think.

Can't say I've noticed this tbh. It takes a few seconds, which it didn't before the last update, but certainly not too long.

XBL in general has been a mess since the fall update. Since then I have disabled auto sign-in because I just can't put up with 'lagging' blades as I flit through them just to play media. It tends to happen randomly for me though, so that doesn't help.

I hate the new Games Library menu, which insists I have no demos when I have just downloaded DMC. I guess I'll have to check the Memory blade to double check my HD capacity.

It was the last one. There are only 2 dashboard updates a year, the last one was just before Christmas.

I had the issue on Sunday, rebooted and it was straight in as normal

Same happening to me, started around Christmas time.

Takes about 30 seconds to sign in, followed by slow updates to the pages etc. Quite annoying to be honest
