xbox to 360 game compatibility?

My sister has a 360 arcade pack which is not connected to live,she wants the xbox game called Fable,does anyone know if it can be played on the 360 without a hdd and without live? or will the 360 need to dl a update from live?

As far as i know you need the HDD for backward compatibility.

No HDD, No Backwards Compatability basically (The emulation data & Software is on any HDD you buy, 20GB or 120GB). (This is if you havethe original Fable 1 from xbox and want to play it on your console using your old copy)

There is XBOX originals (and I think Fable is on there) I am not sure if that is what you mean. Basically you would download the game from the marketplace and then play it offline, but to do that you need to get online 1st and you need a HDD to store the game on.

It needs the hard drive for the emulation profiles. As its completely different hardware it needs different profiles to run each game.

I daresay it also needs the HDD to run the game. After all the original Xbox came with a HDD which must have been used in caching most (if not all) Xbox 1 titles. If no HDD was present, they'd just crash.
