Xbox to PC Joypad Controller Converters?

I was looking to buy one of these Xbox to PC Joypad Controller Converters so that I could play third person games on my PC using my Xbox controller (I hate using the keyboard for movement for such games). I would just like to know whether other people on here have used something similar and whether they work well?

I also wanted to know if anyone could recommend any good reliable products and whether such converters work for all PC games?

I picked one up in a high street games store for about seven quid which worked fine.

The XBox pads are USB, just with a different shape plug so the convertors are all much of a muchness due to their simplicity.

I made my own with a spare breakaway lead and a USB extension.

Or just buy an Xbox 360 wired controller, works out of the box as a standard USB controller....

make ** own... just take a controller port out of ** xbox and then take a usb connector from somewhere, link the cables, download some software and ** away. u can solder the cables but if u dnt wanna it is possible to use electrical tape. also u will have 2 so u can play emulators multiplayer. ive been playing the n64 emulator quite a lot recently
