Xbox Will Not Read Discs

I've had my Xbox elite about 5 years now and never had any problems but about 6 months ago it started to not play discs after I hadn't played on it about 18 months before that due to getting my pc built.

Now GTA has come out I wanted to use it so I bought a pc world (GASP) Cleaning disc and it seems to help but I have to run it twice then it may play the game.
If I turn the Xbox off and on again after playing a game I will have to do the same again

So im just asking what else there is I can do so save me this ball ache before I get it sent to my local Xbox repair center to save me some money

You probably need to change the lazer, you could do it yourself to save some money.

Tweak the laser if you have a multimeter...theres enough guides out there and its easy to do.

Worth a go before replacing the laser.

Try getting a can of air duster from somewhere like Maplins and give it a good blow out.
