xbox wireless headset

i have jsut got one of these, but i cannot get it to select channel 1 which is what the wireless pad is on it must be really simple any ideas?

Believe it or not, the manual does tell you how to get the 360 to pickup the headset.

tried all that the manual suggested not working

when i first tried to connect my wireless headset, it kept assigning it to quadrant 2. this kept happening while following the instructions in the manual

how i got it to work.....

turn on console via joypad, then just turn on the headset and it assigns itself to the joypad (quadrant 1) has worked like this since
