Xbox360, a few questions

I answered that actually. Nobody can give you an exact figure. Its less than the failure rate of the launch models and you are still covered by warranty.

Oh you guys don't get it.
Of course I could have gold for free too by registering to a new mail every month, but there's an other matter... Enough about that matter as I'm in a lions den atm... Forget the online/hdd questions...

I'm getting the arcade and I'll perhaps later buy an hdd for it.

What you guys didn't answer me is, how prone are these 360's to break, eg. if I buy one, how much chance do I have that I have to send it back some time?

You cant really put a timer on a 360, i remember some website saying that MS had a 35% return rate but that was last year sometimes. I wouldnt let it put you off.

16%ish chance I reckon. (I read somewhere that an MS rep commented that they had improved it from the original 33% down to around 16% but can't recall the source).

The underlying problem is not fixed. If it was fixed they would drop down to the standard 1 yr warranty at the drop of a hat, rather than paying for a 3 yr warranty out of their own profits.

If it was an Arcade version I would risk it at the current prices as they are a bargain for what you get.

That was in answer to the second question :p I was comparing the reliability of the current consoles to launch, I should have made that clearer.

Ahh ok, it makes sense now :)

I'd go for the Premium purely for the sake of the hard drive. Initially they don't seem overly vital but they quickly become incredibly useful when you play more and more games and start wanting DLC for them.

I went for the arcade as it was all i could afford at the time and i dont intend on needing a harddrive untill the DLC for GTA IV is released so it was the best choice for me.
