Wrong, wrong wrong, now takes the whole fun out of things.

It's nothing more than $£%&" cheating for crying out loud!!!

I need buddys that can let me boost off of them so i can get the SS rank legit. I will need about 5 people to help me with this so send me an FR if you want to help

It's a forum dedicated to 'helping' each other out. I'm all for tips, but this is just silly!

nah, me and nokkon had a play in PD0 last night and let each other get some headshots an mellee kills etc. But in the end it was easier settin up a server with 15 agent bots and racking up the acheivments like that. What i am concerned about is how cheats might be implemented on the 360, cos somethin like infinite life etc could allow someone to rip through a game in uber hard and get a good acheivment. My all gold trophies in PGR is my crownin glory atm and theres no way to cheat that, altho i think all platinum is beyond me cos the stupid cone races are errrr stupid!

Some Achivements are a joke imo.

Things like getting to the top place in the world and in the top 10. Sure they deserve recognition but to be fair 99.9% of the gameing population can not get them which imo makes them pointless achievements. IMO the Achivements should be attained by dedication, commitment and skill.
Getting under a certian time in a race, completing the game in the hardest setting, finding all the secrets in a level, getting a certian number of points. Getting through the level with 100% accuracy, not sustaining any damage, keeping your team alive, a perfect win on LIVE.

These are the sorts of things I think should be Achivements. Also there should be achivements that within the game are very difficult. I have heard the EA games make a mocery of the system by their trivialness.

I think it is a bit weak having to cheat or get help to get achivements. IMO its a personal reflection of your skill and if you needed to cheat to get the achivement then you are only fooling yourself.

I am not looking forward to when Action Replay comes out on the 360. Every 12 - 18 year old will have 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 Achivement points whilst only owning one game

Too right! I know of 2 people, myself included, that were really pleased with ourselves when we got through COD2 on Veteran. It's a real buzz. I know it's only a game, but it's a sense of achievement (literally!) to know that you've gone from a to z and all the stuff in between through nothing more than sheer determination, skill and a bit of luck.

If I wanna race someone on PGR3, I want a challenge. I don't want some kid (or adult!) who crashes at every corner or rams into me because they've conned their skill by 'trading' their achievements with someone else.

It's wrong, just childishly wrong

/rant.

You can't get achievements if you cheat or use someone else's save, fortunately.

I'm sure MS will put in restrictions on achievements once they've seen what works well and what doesn't. At the moment they're fair game, the publisher gets 1000 points and puts them wherever they want. I would assume the way points are done in first party games are the way MS would like achivements to be done - but being open for now will be better in the long run (so if another company uses achivements in a novel and popular way, MS can add that to the list of 'recommendations').

Edit:
Agree with everything ~J~ said.

i honestly couldnt give a monkeys about gamerscores, much in the way RANKED battlefield 2 servers ruined the game imo, i hope these gamerscores dont getting in the way

Dont forget u lot, gamerscore has nothing to do with matchmaking play online, its based on truskill type rankings earnt by winning servers. While gamerscore can be manipulated, like i suggested by say settin up a server full of easy bots etc to get high melee kills or headshots. For me i only see that as speeding up the inevitable, im good at games, i have in fact more acheivments on PGR than most people here (all except platinum champ and online proffessional) and if i wanted to spend 2 months on PD0 i would surely unlock all the acheivments, but i hate the game tbh and just wanna clean it out and get on with enjoyin somethin else.

What will eventually screw the results is when bargain bins appear into yr2 and on, people will be picking up tons of missed games for pennies and piling on the points. But as long as code based cheating is kept out then im not bothered about people who use walkthroughs etc. Ive decided that to prevent gaming becoming like work im gonna do a first play-thru then an acheivment based play through where i may or may not seek help from a guide.

To be honest I just look at the Achievements as a personal achievement to say well done for getting to level xx or well done for doing x,y & z. What a lot of people see it as is willy waving which is why people get het up on having 1000000 points so they have a bigger willy to wave.

Smash TV now there's a game with near impossible achievements IMO complete the whole game without using a continue  just completing one level without a continue is hard enough.

The flower of black perals on hexic is pretty much as hard as they come, im close had 2 black pearls and only practiced for a few days. Its pretty sad TBH that people are complaining about the difficulty of some acheivments. i mean sure some are utterly insane, but that the bloody point! some could take years of practice and play, thats what makes them ACHIEVMENTS. Otherwise you might aswell get 1000 points everytime you buy a new game, there would be no point.

I for one LOVE the system, so far its only open to minor exploits and all require thought, dedication and skill to achieve if not all three at once. This system has really driven me to keep at games and try to excel in order to up my gamer points. I think it adds a whole new dimension to games and really gives them replayability.

Well done MS, although it will probably leave me poor and hungry due to buying every game under the sun to keep the points up i think its a wicked system.

I couldn't agree more, I personally love that some are REALLY hard. CoD2 and King Kong are too easy for achievements if you ask me.

if you want easy achivements try fifa:rtwc you can easily get the 1000 in 1 night... i got them and then traded it (got £30 too so i was happy)
