It just offers nothing over the old ps2 version.

It offers a console that I have the ability to play a katamari game.
If offers me a good little online competitions with who's got the biggest katamari.
If offers online battles
It offers online co-op.

Othat than that, yeah, loving it so far. Was always a massive fan of the katamari (had my PS2 chipped to deliberatly play the import) and spent far too long in it.

Definately a marmite game though.

I was playing it friday, but ive only done the training level, its quite weird, having never played a katamari game before.

I meant in terms of gameplay. I like the game but I'm just providing the reasoning for the lack of enthusiasm

one of my friends had a promo copy form work [she works in a video game store]

its ok - i can see the family/partygame/cutesy attraction - i just know it would be something i would get bored of after ten minutes

the increased power of the latest gen consoles can offer so much more imho
im not bad mouthing it - i just wouldnt go for it personally

I don't see what all the fuss is about, I played the first 4 or 5 levels and just got bored and switched off the 360. Maybe I just don't get it, the game would definitely be better if I'd taken some mind altering substances before playing.

I only found out it was on the PS2 last night, I think it is quite a good and quirky game. At first it makes no sense at all what is going on. It isn't helped by all the talking that you can't help by skip 'cos it seems completely illogical and random.

Once you get it into though it's good fun, am enjoying it a lot more than when I first started it, will need to see what the Multi player modes are like.

This should have been a Live Arcade title like Rez. As it is im not paying full price for a port. I think I'll wait for a proper next gen Katamari.

I played the demo for this, and you rolled a ball around and that was about it. Is that all there is to it?

No, there's a lot more to it than that.

Ultimately yes you roll a ball around to pick up objects, but you can't just pick up a house, you need to start small and work up to it.

But there's the challenges such as picking up mostly items that are "drinks", or for the mars mission you've to pick up items which are hot to make the temperature 10,000C.

You could roll and roll and roll getting bigger and bigger inside the house, but you won't be able to venture outside to pick up cars, trees, houses, mansions, castles, etc if you're too big to fit through the door, so there's some stratagy behind it.

But I've always loved the Katamari games, just a simple affair with some good challenges.

Bought this new for under £5 a few days ago.

One of the first things I noticed was that it's pretty difficult! Had to retry levels 2 and 3 a few times. Although I heard the early levels are the most difficult.
After that, I noticed that I felt dizzy and had a terrible headache from playing

Regarding the gameplay though, I wouldn't say I love OR hate it.. it's 'meh' so far.

I played We Love Katamari do death on the PS2 and almost got the platinum on Katamari Forever (Damn you 100% collection!

)

I love it! makes me quite dizzy/sick playing it so that sucks. Definitely a marmite game. Great for kids though

It's just nice to play when you can't be bothered getting into a deep story.

Might get Beautiful Katamari for Xbox too now.

Got it months ago for under a fiver brand new and played it once. Seemed fun but was busy playing other games at the time. Its on the needs played list.

I had the original katamari and the sequel. Never picked up the new gen verisons. May have to pick this up as I did love the games!

The most recent games have a lot of the old levels in them but they have slightly improved the gameplay so it doesn't matter
