Hey folks!

My TV only has 1 HDMI input, so my DVD Recorder and XBOX360 can't both use HDMI connections, without a splitter, which I really don't think is neccasary.

What I wondered is;

Is the component cable pretty much as good as the HDMI for the 360?

Or do you *really* think I should just get a splitter and use 2 HDMI?

Many thanks,

Sean

Hey,

It has a VGA input on the TV I believe, how would I use that from the XBOX then would I need to buy a VGA cable?

Is VGA better quality than component?

IMO it all depends on how good the component input on your TV is. My panasonic pwd8 looks absolutely incredible in component. vga looks no different and neither does hdmi. mine is not HD though, so that may have a bearing on the results

Personal choice with what you thinks better. On my Dell 2405 and any of my toshiba tv's I prefer the colours on component rather than VGA. Others would say different but it's my xbox and thats what I prefer :)

I've always said the same as Danny, Toshiba's seem stronger on Component, though I don't know about the 2405, I've probably used VGA on it more purely for 1080p.

I've been thinking about putting my 360 through VGA, getting tired of switching my Wii/360 component cables around all the time.

What lead would I need for the sound?

The official VGA cable has 2 phono connectors for left and right sounds, it also comes with a phono -> 3.5mm jack converter.
