Im thinking of going out to argos today to get an xbox360 core pack ive reserved. My plan is to get the core pack and project gotham 3 now. I dont own a HD tv so the component leads arent critical at this time until i get a HD tv. The only thing im really bothered about is the HDD. it is really that essential to have one or can i live without one for a bit until i can afford to get one? Also im planning on buying the wireless controls later as well as i think i can survive with just the wired one  Is their anything else that you think i should buy now that i really need?

Thanks in advance!

Well if you can't get the Premium pack, then id just go for the Core with the memory card, as long as you can still save, i suppose thats the main thing for now, HD's only really for live, but you can get on there when you can get the HD, which you can get when its available in good supply, but if your after a Premium then ive just remembered the Comet website has them with an extra wireless pad, and PGR3. :)

I had a Core 360 and memory card.

The wired pad is fine. When you've never had the wireless pad, you don't miss it.
A memory card is fine. You can use Xbox live, and save your games (though PGR3 is very greedy and uses 10meg). There's even room to download Geometry Wars (or something else) from Xbox live arcade.

The only reason i changed to a Premium was that i couldn't find an HD to buy, and i wanted to download some demos from Xbox Live.

The price of the HDD takes the Core up to the price of the Premium anyway.. if I was buying a 360 now myself, I would get a Premium. You miss out on quite a lot of functionality by not having an HDD.

well i did it, i went and bought a core system with pgr3 and a memory card. My money has been well spent and im glad ive done it, i plan on buying the hdd when i have a bit more money and getting maybe call of duty 2. Cant wait till tomb raider legends is released, deffinatly buying that game!

Nice one mate, PGR3 is brilliant, im looking forward to the new Tomb Raider game too. :)

If your in Somerset, or near, then Woolworths in Yeovil have the HD's in stock.
