one thing i dont know about this is, i dont think that it is like the eye toy, but only a camera. whereas the Eyetoy was a cemeramotion sensor too. I wont be getting one though, dont really have much call to see the person i am fighting on an already laggy live game ;)
oh and i didnt by the eyetoy neither, dont appeal to me lol

True, but there's meant to be something 'special' about it in regards to a patent that MS applied for that relates to spacial sensors. Don't ask me what, I've no idea, all sounds too technical for my brain, but if you have two it's meant to see things in 3d!

Just going to be open to abuse.

I would guess that any abuse of the system would result in more than just a ban from LIVE!, probably even MS passing details onto the authorities.

Also I would assume that the camera functions could be disabled in the parental controls.

Looking forward to the face mapping/motion sensor games in the future.

It could be fun, it could be innovative, it could be freaky :)
I am wondering why there are so few controllers out there for the 360.
As yet no decent steering wheels (awaiting the nitro), no joysticks, no surfboards, no dance mats etc and you can't use the old xbox ones.
Bit miffed about that really.

Good things come to those who wait.

One probable reason for the lack of 3rd party equipment is down to Microsoft requiring strict agreements on licensing out to 3rd party manufacturers.

One thing that I would like to see happen would be a decent light gun and at least more than 2 games with support. Not since the day of the NES/Master system has there been any decent support for light gun games.

I left lightgun off because with so many of us using non CRT based TV's light guns need a new method of working. The only one that I have seen that works with plasma etc involves attaching things to the side of the screen to enable "aiming". It is supposed to be quite good though.

Just been reading a bit more on this cam. Apparently, not confirmed of course, but it's not only meant to allow video chat and capturing of your face to project into the game (as a model), but for something like a FPS, you can use hand gestures that will pass to your team mates as a similar gesture; like "move to there", "stop", "look".

Like I said, not 100% confirmed, but it's pretty much in the bag that Nintendo are doing the same with the Revolution so I'm sure MS are gonna jump on board.

It does categorically state though that to have the benefit of this spatial technology you will need more than one camera.

Interesting!

Even with CRT, the few light gun games that did come out were either poor games, or let down by the light gun itself. Unfortunately it's probably the case that developers don't see the demand for light guns in games, especially if it's going to need plenty of time to develop a decent gun to work on hundreds of screens.

For Microsoft not to include at minimum the same features of the Eyetoy would be plain stupid. If the 360 camera is simply a mid range USB webcam then nobody will buy it to wave there hands around in game.

It's going to be an Eyetoy beater technology wise, but will we get the games to enable us to use it to its full potential? I would have to say most definately. Nintendo really should have thought of the Eyetoy thing before Sony as perhaps it could have boosted the appeal of the Cube that little more.

Ha, i love the first comment on there:

"1. Great, now we'll get to see pictures of people's manberries next to their car every time we go online."
