Xbox360 getting a bit stale

Right this is going to be a bit of a PS3 vs Xbox thread. I have been an avid console gamer since the n64 and have owned a ps1, ps2 and the first xbox and when the next gens came out I joined the Xbox camp because on games like halo and gears. I recently replaced my xbox with the halo special edition when reach came out but since I have finished reach I have not touched my xbox:( It just has no appeal to me. The game market seems to be getting a little dry with the exclusive titles that were the reason of me getting the 360 dying off or better games of the same style getting released on the ps3. So the question that is stuck in my head right now is... Is it worth trading in the xbox and seeing if I can can pick up a ps3 with some of the titles that I have missed out on? (MGS4 !!)
As a console the ps3 seems to be the better machine? (blue ray player etc)

what console do you think has the most life left in it (good up coming titles etc) ?
I dont really play online anymore, prefer online gaming on the pc ;) so that has no effect on this decision

Keep xbox as it has some decent exclusives due for release in near future and buy ps3 or sell xbox and buy ps3 or sell both and start gaming on pc which is what I done!

Depending on which 360 you have, theyre not worth that much for trade in, and as you like gears and Halo you wouldnt want one when the next ones come out. As already suggested best save up a bit more and have both.

Urgh, I feel totally the same. That's why I'm building a new PC and getting casually back in WoW...but dang I can't wait for gears 3!

Get yourself Kinect.

I have no room for that. I owned a Wii for a short period of time and found motion control to be nothing more than a bit of a party piece to have fun with when you have friends round not the kind of gaming that i get up to, prefer a good split screen FPS ;) As for owning both I donno I would kind of feel guilty owning both when I hardly play the one I already own. As for gaming PC mine is going strong. how is the second hand market for PS3's? are the old 60GB? ones that had the backward compatibility easy to come by ? Is the difference between the old style ps3 and the new one more noticeable that the difference between the old and new style of xbox because I did not see much of one when I bought the new version ( apart from the fact it has not RROD on me ... touch wood.

Sometimes I don't use one of them, or even both of my consoles for months at a time. But it's still some time to go until the new consoles come out so you never know what games there are before then. If you use it a bit then it's more than worth it IMO.

My brother has one of the backwards compatible ones that he bought on Ebay. Was a bit knackered but it still works :)

You just need to get your gaming mojo back, have you got any games since Reach?
I find myself in periods of gaming droughts, I'm in one right now, picked up Bioshock 2 on the cheap but can't seem to get into it, have Homefront but all my online buddies ditched it when you couldn't get into a game as a party and it just isn't near as much fun on MP on your own.

Avidly awaiting Portal 2, I think that'll re-energise my gaming gland, and the Gears 3 beta.

not sure a x360 is worth much, perso, i'd keep it since there are still a few future exclusives you may want

also get a PS3 play all the games you missed out on (Unchartered, MGS4, GT5...) - but inevitably you will be bored like you were with the 360. but at least it will be a usefull BR player and I find it better streamer than the MS imo - I hate that Media Center app

Save up for a gaming rig as both are getting very stale to be honest. Exclusive wise maybe the ps3 edges this latey though. I most get my console games pre owned though when they come down from silly prices or get the pc version with better fps and much better graphics. Answer to your question though would be to save the extra 60 bucks you would get for trade and get a ps3 along side your 360

both ps3 and xbox are getting stale now and slowly dying off, my suggestion is to sell which ever consoles you have and build yourself a decent rig.
that is what i have done, never look back :)

A PS3 is a decent investment because it has use beyond gaming. It is a decent media server and you can extend its storage massively.

Also lots of exclusives to try, Killzone 2+3, MGS4, GT5, LBP 1+2, Heavy Rain.

gaming market is pretty stale IMO not just the main consoles

I only keep my 360 so I can play Fifa, Cod and F1 and will just replace those games yearly. PS3 just for the exclusives that tend to not live up to the wait GT5 and Killzone were a real let down for me. Will keep the PS3 now just to wait for uncharted3

I do think the 360 is getting stale. There just doesn't seem to be that many exclusives for it anymore(that aren't kinect related anyway). The PS3 has quite a lot coming out this year.
Although we are coming up to summer and that's generally totally rubbish for games anyway.

i tend to have little periods where i have no interest in my 360. it can last anything from a week to about a month! but i tend to find buying a shiny new game gets the juices flowing again!

that's just what i did yesterday. picked up the darkness for £3.98 pre-owned :-D
