just a quick observation that most xbox ports run a lot better on ati pc cards because i think it is more or less the same gfx code

eg nfs series roboblitz cod2 graw these last two barely ran on my 6800gt at decent settings i realize they would have run slightly better on a 7 series card but i have read lots of reviews that say ati is still a lot better in these games

ati cards to me are more pixel shader orientated than nvidia who took the more pipelined aproach think nvidia are now seeing this and addressing it with the 8800s

wonder how well the ps3 ports will run on ati hardware lol

Whats quite interesting though is that the PS3 uses a derivative of the Nvidia 7800 chip with a few tweaks where the 360 uses a specially designed chip based on the up and coming (at some point) R600. It seems the 360 actually has a far more advanced GPU than the PS3, time will tell though.

Fortunately the 8800 has a unified shader, well, lots of unified shaders. If you check the benchmarks of certain gaimes, the performance is well over 3x that of older cards. I think (don't quote me on this) its just due to the devs exploiting that shader architecture on the X360, in that they have a pool of power and can use it for geometry/vertices/pixels at a whim.
