Just noticed play and charge kits are down as 2-3 days, should be worth a punt if anyone if after them

they took down the direct link to HD ages ago because of demand, I bookmarked it before it went down

Charge and play are stocked at most Grainger Games So are HD I got a charge and Play yesterday and they also had HD in my local store.

Check your local store they get stock every other day.

How come theres a shortage of these, are they different to PC HD's.

I don't understand how theres a shortage of the peripherals, i can understand the console yes.

AFAIK its just a samsung laptop hard drive in a plastic shell with the microsoft software installed. I was also told the xbox360 HD arent made by Microsoft themselves but by some other company which the name I forgot.

beacuse they are 20gb, if they were 40 they would be easily available, but that would take away some of the profit to be made from releasing a bigger one later on.

And the Seagate rep at CES (not sure if it was at the Seagate or MS booth...) was a tad befuddled as to why they were making such tiny drives for them.

well when anandtech disassembled the X360 HDD, it was showing a samsung hard drive.
