Xbox360 Live to update games.

Do you really need and box live gold to download updates to games.

My free 1 months gold has ran out, and I now have silver. But PES6 keeps saying live disconnected when it trys to update.

You get the disconnected from xbox live message before it updates then it reconnects or does on gold at least.

afaik game updates only require silver - could just be a bug?

You only need silver to get updates afaik.

What usually happens is that if an update is required then it will ask you if you want to update, then disconnect from live before updating the game.
