Xbox360 MTU failed

I've just bought a new 360 and having the above problems. My old one connected fine using the same setup as I am now.
I have a wired connection provided out from my main computer, I have bridged the networks on my computer to provide the internet for the console. The results of a LIVE test are as follows:-

IP CONFIRMED
DNS CONFIRMED
MTU FAILED

I have checked my MTU size in my router and I have more than the recommended amount.

Help?

xbox live is down for the day. i guess that wouldnt be helping things!

I've been trying for the last hour or so to get my lad's new XBox online and kept getting the mtu error, I must've changed the router to every setting from 1364-1500, didn't realise it was down

Yes it is because Live is down, just ran the test on my 360 i know works and get the same MTU Failed error.

Live was meant to come back on at 7:59am, try again now, although they never get it back on time

It's still down.

Should be up around 9 if they're true to the 24 hours prediction.

Xbox.com shows signs of life (login has appeared even if it's not working) so I'm guessing we're close.

yeah same here i always get the MTU failure when live is down.

When I saw my one say the same, I was like wtf??? Then I remembered the xbox live service being down, so I figured that was the reason.
