Xbox360 or PS3?

Hey guys.

Im newly single, so with payday coming up this friday i was thinking about buying either an X360 or PS3, but not sure which.

Any idea's which would be better?

Im into FPS, racing, the usual games. Hate MMORPG's and role playing, etc.

Whats so good about the 175w ones? :p

The only great games for the xbox i know about at the moment are COD4 and GTA4 coming soon and a few racing games + halo ofcourse :p

The 175w 360s indicate that it's the latest revision of the 360's innards.. and therefore is (allegedly) less likely to overheat and get the dreaded red rings of death.

So if i was to choose a 360, does the Premium allow HD output or is it only the elite that has an HDMI output?

Too many choices nowadays!
 
Looks like its going to be an xbox 360 Premium coming my way on saturday morning!! So what are the best FPS games out at the moment, Gears of war is it 1 or 2 now? :/ Cod4, Mass effect etc?
 
Yeah i have the wii but it seriously lacks mature games, i just need to play something with violence instead of pretty colours!!

Thanks for the help guys, ill be pre-ordering GTA4 when i buy my xbox, although unless im very lucky it will no doubt by sold out everywhere!

Xbox premium wiv R6V2 (console bundle)
COD4
Forza 2

and the Component cable or HDMI cable - which ever the xbox takes if the cable isnt included.

A poster in this thread earlier on mentioned the Premium may have the HDMI connection. Is this correct or is it only the elite.

Does the HDMI make a lot of difference over component?

Ah right, the Optical audio cable could come in handy for connecting to my home theatre :) so even just for that and the bigger HDD i may go with the elite, plus it looks so good in black!

I have to have a wee read with regards to condemned 2, but never knew there were som many excellent games.

To comply with hdmi rules the 360 has to have a generic hdmi output so all/any cables fit. So if you want to connect with hdmi and want optical audio out you have to also fit the component/vga adaptor and use it's optical out connector.

It gets more complicated though. MS have put the standard video out port so close to the hdmi port that they both won't fit unless you buy an MS optical out connector (which comes with the Elite). You can work around this by breaking open the component casing (so it fits).

Single eh? Well then it's gotta be a PS3... when you pull your next girlfriend and bring her back, you can woo off her clothing with it's asthetics and by throwing on a blu-ray disc and amazing her with the pic quality.

Or get her home, take her clothes off and ask if she wants a game of COD4 :p
 
Nice one, definately going to get a xbox360 probably the premium since its cheaper. Roll on payday!
