Little issue with my Xbox360 that I'm hoping someone may offer an idea on how to resolve.

Moved my Xbox360 from Swansea to London over the weekend, so now have one in the bedroom (main one) and one in the living room (for Rockband2, Scene IT, etc).

Problem is, everytime I want to play in the living room one, it asks me to recover my profile before I play. While obviouslly saved games aren't copied over, does take about 10mins of waiting while whatever it does is copied from the net, and then when I want to play on the main one, I have to do it all again!

Is there anyway to have my profile on both machines? Achievements, saved games all not important as they're saved on my main one, just is a pain in the ass having to do it all the time!

as nightstalker said...putting your profile on a mem card (official) is the only way to do it. And I say official because MS are blocking a lot of unofficial mem units in the next update.

Well definately can't swap hardrives, as stuff is on both. Didn't realise I could put my profile on a memory card and do that though.

Cheers.

Because your save data is not stored externally.

That's not what I'm asking though is it. I'm merely saying I don't understand why a simple 'username', 'gamertag', call it what you will needs to be transferred from one machine to the other.

I know, and I'd expect that my game saves, my data, my DLC wouldn't move from machine to machine; not only would this be a ridiculous amount of bandwidth, it would also be impossible if the last machine I'd used was switched off....

But I simply thing it's a bit lame that there isn't an option somewhere for me to move from console to console, simply logging in with my gamertag without having to 'recover' it.

You can play the same gamertag offline on two different machines. It's when you connect to live that the problem arises.

I think the main issue is achievements and tracking when you complete some. You could complete an achievement offline, login to the other xbox and complete more achievements whilst on XBL. Then of course the achievement you completed on the offline console won't be tracked and then be lost.
