Anyone know what the policy is if a DVD is starting to sound like a pneumatic drill on my console?

, started 'clattering' last night and I've tried several other games on my console and they work fine, taken my PGR3 disc to a mates house and sure enough it's banging on his.
Doesn't look scratched but then again my eye's aren't as sharp as a laser so something must be wrong somewhere.
I got the game on the console release date, one of the those 'deals' from ???? (can I say Game?) where you bought the console and 4 games for a guaranteed reservation.
Still got the receipt, and the console definately has NOT been moved from vertical to horizontal so it must be general wear and tear or something somewhere has damaged it.
Do the store accept damaged DVD's after so long, or do I contact someone else like the manufacturer of the game?
