Right, perhaps my first serious post!!

Day off tomorrow, so hopefully gonna have a shift around with things. Got a wireless adapter now, so moving the console but have also dug out my Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500 amp for true 5.1 sound.

Question is, I've a Joytech VGA cable, so it has the optical out and I'm 99.9% positive the optical cable has the correct plugs for both the Joytech port and the DTT3500 amp, but what 'sound' settings give the optimal results in the dashboard?

Also, got a set of Medusa 5.1 headphones that I use on a night when the boss (wife) is in bed (or crashed on the settee). If I plug these speakers into the DTT3500 amp, will I hear a noticable difference rather than what I have now which is the 2 RCA plugs going into the Line-In of the PC supplying sound to the Medusa's?

Daren't post any pics yet as the desk is a mess, but been messing around with this, and here's what I've got...

Currently have a set of Logitech X-530 speakers which don't have any optical input.

PC motherboard has a SPDIF input/output, so have attached a RCA lead from the SPDIF output of the motherboard into the DTT3500 amp, then connected the optical out from the Joytech VGA box into the amp and plugged in.

WOW!!! Difference is unbelievable now, opens up a totally different gaming experience in true 5.1.

If anyone's thinking of doing this, go for it, you won't regret it!
