Got a problem with an old Xbox360 (had it 3 years).

Has worked fine and all of a sudden has stopped outputting video.

It's connected to a TV via (don't know the correct name) Red/White for sound and Yellow for video direct into the TV (NOT via a SCART block but the phono plugs going straight into phono connectors).

If I go to the AV channel, I can hear the sound perfect just no video.

Have checked the cables, all seem to be intact.

Any ideas on what may be wrong or any tests I can do to narrow down the problem?

It's a common problem, almost as common as the RROD and E74 and it's caused by the same thing: the BGA solder joints under the GPU and/or the (H)ANA video output chip going bad.

Oven bake + x-clamp mod will fix it :)

Even if you only got £50 (you'd probably get a little more in reality) it's worth the small amount of time/money/effort, surely?

I'm not clued up about how to put the X-Clamp in but I'll give it a whirl anyway mate.

you don't need to fix it, RROD 360's are going from £30-40 on ebay (usually).

I'd offer to buy it from you but I already have 6 in the house and the wife is moaning enough about those :D
