there is something bugging me about my XboxOne and it's
an anti aliasing issue (or is it) ?

i've noticed on nearly every game that objects in the not to distance
are very jaggy... for example an over head power line in need for speed rivals.
once u get right up to them they are lovely and straight lol.

but its objects in all games i've noticed this.
or is it an anisotropic filtering issue and is it on PS4 also?

Does this happen on PS4?, is this why they say PS4 is more powerful?

tempted to switch consoles if this is the case.

PS: i am using a full HD tv (1920x1080p).

cheers.

Most games on both platforms will be 900p on the XBO and 1080p on the PS4 so generally the PS4 version will suffer less from jaggies.

Anything thats very thin like powerlines or fences is really really hard to get smooth because they are usually on a few pixels wide so normal AA techniques just wont work and anything beyond that just isnt what consoles are capable of using (already have games that use multiple variants of AA together).

Both consoles will suffer from probable inadequate AA/AF - its up to the developer to get the balance right onsidering the performance hit. I dont think this is particular to the XO, nor is the PS4 at all that much better when it comes to AA/AF usage (generally the extra power is used in higher res or better assets/shadows etc before AA/AF is considered)

You need to look at your TV settings as you might not have it setup correctly so that could exacerbate the issues you are seeing (too much sharpness etc)

P.S. What you are describing is nothing to do with AF AFAIK

ps3ud0
