XboxOne S worth it?

as the title really.
people who already had the Xbox One and upgraded to the S model was it worth it?
is the up-scaling noticeable in a blind test or should one wait for the Scorpio?

Yes it's worth it, considering you have a 4K HDR compatible TV. HDR is worth it alone imo.

When you consider everything else you get;

Smaller
No power brick
Better controller
HDR
4K Blu ray player
Small boost to some games

Without a doubt worth the upgrade, I did the same thing and zero regrets.

I would do it as the cost differential is negligible if you buy/sell at the right time (I sold two xbox ones and now have two one S').

I doubt it will make a difference in 4k up scaling, but hdr content is there.
 
Depending on the deal, I'd say yes. My deal was ridiculous on launch day, and I believe they're even better now e.g. the minecraft & extra pad one recently.

Traded in my normal Xbox One to CEX for £113 cash, was going to buy Fifa 17 and the new pad anyway (that's £80 worth) and got the new one for £224 on release day so effectively it cost me £31 to upgrade
 
I'm in the same boat as some in here as in it's costing me £20 to upgrade to a One S. It's not arrived yet but to have a new console instead of a 2year old, smaller, etc. Etc. Seems like a bargain, regardless of Scorpio
 
If you can do it su £50 then it's worth it if not and your paying over that I'd say no as above. Scorpio is going to be targeting different audience as ps4 pro is

I honestly didnt realise there were that many games supporting it, i guess multiplatformers with the ps4 should be a given if they do HDR on that console.

thats exactly the same as what i did but got 125 in game
 
Only worth it if you have a 4kHDR TV and are also planning to buy 4k blu-rays. In which case, it's the best choice among current consoles for 4k TVs.

I originally bought a Xbox one S at release but returned due to noisy fan. At the time I was not bothered about its 4k spec as I did not have a 4k TV, just wanted a xbox one for some exclusive games, so ended up just buying an original xbox one.
Ive recently bought a 4k TV and now wish I had kept the S model!!!

Just a few questions

Can the xbox one S apps such as Netflix, Amazon stream 4k content?

Does anyone know any shops that stock the console in the darker blue colour?

Yes they will stream 4K from the apps but you must subscribe to the 4k content on Netflix & Amazon the receive it.

Surely you must be able to just use the apps on your tv (smart tv) which will do the same thing.

Argos often have the navy blue version. And as Roman said, your 4k TV will have amazon and Netflix anyway. Work great on Samsung TVs.

Yeah I can, I just prefer to use a console, so I make use of it. got the media remote for the xbox as well.
