Hi guys,

Trying to install Xcode from the Snow Leopard DVD on my newest gen MBP.

When it gets to the "Select a Destination" screen & I try and select Macintosh HD, I get the error

"You cannot install Xcode on this volume. A version of Mac OS X 10.6 was not found."

Any ideas what's going on here?
Cheers

Ok I misunderstood with my first one. I'm assuming you're installing the SL Xcode on SL rather than 10.5.... so...

Have you downloaded the newest version from the Apple developer connection? :D

Xcode is tied to specific versions, it's not the first time that they've accidently been caught out by minor version changes. iPhone SDK may also play the same games if you attempt to install that too.

I'm installing Xcode from the SL disc onto my MBP running SL.

I've tried downloading the newest version too, that install fails with the same error.

Still cannot get this working.

I would have thought the supplied version of Xcode on the SL disc would be the correct one for the MBP. It's only a month old!
