Just finished the demo, it was more sort of a tutorial but overall the gameplay felt excellent, especially liked how fluid the operations felt being able to quickly tab between soldiers and move them while other soldiers were still running felt really great!
Game is looking ace which really makes me happy as the original xcom is one of my all time favs!

Demo just popped up on steam 5.5 Gig.
I hate my 3.5 meg connection
thinking of moving. house to a rural village and my main concern is what speed net I'll get lol
Don't move for a few years and that should be solved with roll out of 4g, which isn't just for mobile phones, but home broadband as well.

does everyone else's demo start in 32bit dx9 windowed mode? Got win 7 64bit with a gtx 670

mine did, also gtx670, just alt-ent and it was fine
also demo is too short i mean wtf was in that 5.5gb , I want more why so long to wait

Cool. Demo was very short but I enjoyed it none the less. Glad I pre-ordered and looks like the civ 5 is doing well. Just 51% to go.....
Videos mainly. All 3.78GB of them if you look in the Xcom folder.
The download size had me hoping for some nice & high res textures, but alas it wasn't to be...
Only suspect thing I noticed was aliens shooting through a metal container, hitting your character & causing damage, without actually destroying the container.
Hopefully that's tweaked for the final build.
Other than that it was good fun though & a nice taster of whats to come.
Anyone remember playing the original UFO:EU demo?
It was a single mission against a landed small UFO in the jungle. I must have played that demo 20 times. I even remember that each solider had a diff weapon: 1x pistol, 1x laser pistol, 1x rifle, 1x laser rifle, 1x heavy cannon, 1x auto cannon.
Man, that demo was awesome

cool that sound good what speed are you talking?
Upto 42Mbps, that's what all current 4g is, however the standard is designed for 100mb.
How much you'll actually get is a wait and see thing. But for my parents and others which only get 512kbps, it should be many times faster, even if its not the full lot.

Short but sweet demo, im glad i prepurchased the game.
Enjoyed the second mission (i went to united states) and had fun killing the men in suits....i lost my sniper though
Ill try the other mission tomorrow see how i do. But yeah i like it, cant wait till october 11th.
