There is a post on the steam forums from a valve employee saying it is a violation of the SSA.
Now whether or not they would do anything about it is unknown but with the amount of games i have on Steam it don't think it's worth even a small risk
Playin thru vpn now, your all mad if you think valve going to do anything to stop you, look it makes no difference to them if your playing it early. No difference to firaxis either. They HAVE to say its a breach of terms or lawyers would be all over their ass, they also HAVE to say that by being in breach you could have your account terminated as they need to keep the option available, if they dont then people could exploit them and they would not have legal recourse.
I spend 100's of pounds on steam, well over a £1000 in total, you really think they will kick me off the service for using a vpn to play a game early like im some naughty child? They dont give a ****!
sign up to something like privatetunnel(.com) download trial app, connect to US server, restart steam, launch game, quit game, put steam in offline mode, keep it offline till friday. Done.So how do you do this unlock and does it affect anything? Do you always have to play it over VPN, or once it's released in uk will it be fine?
Account banning in the EU/UK would bring about so many law suits it would be unreal, we are well protected against inappropriate T&C's - the OFC guidelines, whilst open to interpretation, are pretty strict when it comes to unreasonable barriers in sales contracts.
