XCOM : Enemy Unknown - by Firaxis Games - Thread

Would love to preorder it from steam as it offers potentially the best deal if the Civ 5 target is met. Unfortunately I'm living with a 4meg connection and hate leaving my PC on so it's disk all the way for me. Fortunately I don't really dig the Civ games too much so it's no great loss.

Aren't you getting ahead of yourself a little there? There's no guarantee Civ5 will be included in the pre-order deal. The bar has been growing pretty slowly of late ;)

Yep, greenmangaming currently have a 20% discount code you can use to pre-order it, bringing it down to £24. The code is on the front page of their web site and expires 25/09. You still get the elite soldier DLC thought not the other stuff, so depends if you want hats and Civ5. Never used them myself but people who have don't seem to have had any problems.

Somehow the original XCOM games completely passed me by, never played any of them, but have been reading lots about this and watching videos and very excited!
 
I'm getting an error when trying to download it?

An error occurred..... (no subscription)?

Anyone else having the same problem?


**** EDIT - Fixed. Quitting out of steam and relogging in seems to have fixed the problem, its downloading now :)
